HOW TO FIND TIME TO ENJOY YOUR LIFE

If it seems like there is not nearly enough time to do the necessary things anymore-never mind the things one might like to try-the solution might seem a little paradoxical: slow down. That's right, take a few steps back and evaluate what has really been going on in life. Prioritize what is really important in life and let go of the things that are not. Take college for example: is that Liberal Arts degree going to do anything for you in a world where there are no jobs to be had? What good does it do to be prepared for a teaching position when less and less people are able to afford the schooling? Unless one has had good foresight and gone into computers, military or the health field, the phrase "ya want fries with that?" might become the new job mantra.
For those with growing families, the panic to provide for the children can lead to never seeing those children grow up. Do the kids really need another toy, another video game, or the hottest new fashion trend? Don't those kids really need-and deserve-loving, present parents? Think about it selfishly for a minute...are these kids that will take care of their parents if it becomes necessary, or will they shuttle them off to the cheapest nursing home they can find? Will your children think of you with love or be indifferent to what happens to you?
Really now, let's get down to what is really important in life...and that would not be owning the newest whiz-bang stuff. What is important is Love and Peace, family and friends, and experiences that bring everyone together in Harmony. The human machine was not made to be under constant stress and unrelenting problems. We were made to thrive with challenges, yes, but not to go without love. If you doubt that, look into the medical studies done on infants that have been abandoned and while fed and diapered but not held and loved, have perished.
Look at people in love...they glow with an aspect of wonder and awe when gazing at their beloved. That connection, that absolute acceptance, is what we all crave, whether we admit it or not. People who have no one to love them get that love from their pets, who give love freely. Hey, if even the animals know we all need love, what the heck is wrong with us? If we will but take a little time for ourselves and our loved ones, refusing money in favor of love, our world will become a far better place. We don't need another widget or the newest fashion piece but we do need connection, love and affection. So take the time to enjoy family and friends, sharing dinner, a walk, or a free event. Let the people you care about know how much you appreciate them and how important they are to you. Speak from the heart; it will never lead you astray.
